The OYI Review
How review works.
Every paper submitted to The OYI Review is scored against a published rubric and checked before anything is published. The first review always comes back with feedback, and a paper is accepted only when it meets the standard.
Publication depends on review and is not guaranteed.
From draft to decision.
Draft.
The student writes in the Writing Studio, in one of 15 formats, with a structure guide, the format’s rubric and citation tools. With Learnacy Essential, an AI writing coach gives feedback on drafts before anything is submitted.
Submit.
When the paper is ready, the student submits it to The OYI Review. Submitting needs Learnacy Essential. An email confirms the submission and gives the date the review is due.
Review.
The paper is scored on every criterion of its format’s rubric. It is checked for originality, its claims are checked against the sources it cites, and it is checked for sensitive content.
Feedback.
The first review always comes back with feedback, whatever the score. The student revises and resubmits when ready, and each revised version is reviewed again.
Decision.
A paper can be accepted when its scores average at least 4 out of 5, with no criterion below 3, and it passes the editorial checks. Otherwise it comes back with changes to make, or it is not accepted this time.
A parent confirms.
For a student under 18, a parent or guardian confirms by email before anything is published.
Published.
An accepted paper waits a day, then goes live under the student’s own name, published by One Young India Press.
The rubric.
Each format has its own rubric, and the Writing Studio shows it before the student starts. This is the rubric for a white paper.
| Criterion | What it asks |
|---|---|
| Thesis & argument | Is there a clear, specific central argument, and does everything in the paper serve it? |
| Evidence & rigour | Are claims backed by credible, well-used evidence, with sound reasoning and no unsupported leaps? |
| Structure & flow | Does the paper move logically, in clear sections, so a reader can follow it from start to finish? |
| Independent thought | Does the reasoning add a considered perspective? |
| Policy relevance | Are the recommendations concrete, workable and realistic? |
| Writing & clarity | Is the writing precise and readable, with correct grammar and a tone that suits a serious paper? |
Each criterion is scored from 1 to 5: Beginning, Developing, Competent, Strong, Excellent.
The editorial checks. Every accepted paper also passes three checks.
- Authorship. The student confirms the work is their own, with any help or borrowed material acknowledged, and it passes an originality check.
- Evidence. Claims are checked against the sources they cite. If a cited source contradicts a claim, the paper is held back.
- Rights. The student agrees to publication, and the paper passes a check for sensitive content.
What comes back.
Every review arrives by email and in My papers. It has:
- a scorecard, with a score out of 5 for each criterion;
- notes on specific passages: suggestions, questions and strengths;
- an overall letter on what to do next.
The decision is one of three: accepted; changes requested, with the paper ready to revise and resubmit; or not accepted this time.
A parent or guardian confirms.
If the student tells us they are under 18, we publish only after a parent or guardian confirms. We email them the paper’s title and exactly how the student’s name, and school if the student chooses, will appear. If nobody confirms, the paper is not published. To withdraw consent later, reply to that email or write to info@oneyoungindia.com.
What an accepted paper receives.
- A public page under the student’s name, with the paper in full.
- A citation others can use, and a PDF.
- A certificate with its own ID that anyone can verify, and that the student can add to LinkedIn.
- An author page that lists the student’s published work.

What Learnacy Essential pays for.
Essential pays for the tools, the course and the feedback. It never buys acceptance.
A plan includes editorial review, and publication of one paper if it is accepted. Publication is not guaranteed.
Revising and resubmitting a paper is part of the same plan, for as long as it is active.
₹1,499 for the year. One payment, including GST. No automatic renewal.
Questions.
- How long does a review take?
- Usually about two days. The email that confirms the submission gives the exact date. A revised paper is reviewed again in the same way.
- Can more than one paper be published?
- A plan covers one accepted paper. A paper that is not accepted does not use it up. A second paper can be published with the next year’s plan.
- Can a published paper be taken down?
- Yes. Write to info@oneyoungindia.com from the student’s or the guardian’s email.
